While driving or walking around downtown this week or weekend you're going to notice some giant plastic animals.

Wait, what?

They're being installed as part of an art project for the Republican National Convention.

When the entire project is complete, visitors will be able to see hundreds of plastic swallows, wolves, snails, frogs and elephants in different areas throughout downtown.

They're being placed by the convention center, public square, the library and the Great Lakes Science Center.

It's all thanks to a $1.5 million grant to the non-profit Land Studios from the Char and Chuck Fowler Foundation.

The plastic animals will stick around for the next three years.

Meanwhile, a different project, funded by Destination Cleveland, is going back to our rock and roll roots.

Giant speakers are being installed at seven locations along East 9th Street leading visitors to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

During the convention, the speakers will play 30 to 90 seconds of music throughout the day from artists inducted into the hall of fame.
