Arrest made in cold case murder of Cleveland teacher Marilyn Habian

EUCLID, Ohio - The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office has indicted a man in connection to a 2008 cold case murder of a Cleveland teacher.

Richard Penque, of Euclid, has been indicted on six charges, including aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, aggravated arson, kidnapping and others.

Penque is accused of killing Marilyn Habian inside her home on Ball Avenue in Euclid on April 7, 2008.

Police said the fifth grade teacher was shot in the chest and her body found in the basement. Authorities said after Penque allegedly shot her and locked her in the utility room, he lit the stove on fire.

Habian taught at Cleveland's Alexander Graham Bell School.

Penque is behind bars in the Cuyahoga County Jail, awaiting his arraignment Tuesday morning at 8:30.
