ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. - The grandfather of Amanda Berry has a special gift he has held onto for her in anticipation of the day she would be found.
Before Amanda went missing, her grandfather promised her his limited edition Chevy Monte Carlo from 1986, the year she was born.
All these years later, Amanda remembered.
"That's the first thing she asked: have you still got m'car. It lit up her world when I told her it's still sitting here," Troy Berry said.
He has kept the car in his driveway.
Berry said Amanda plans to attend a family reunion in August.
He spoke to his granddaughter for the first time in a decade in an emotional phone call after her rescue.
