CLEVELAND - Contestant names and details of the 2013 Cleveland Miss Dyngus Pageant have been announced.

The crowning of Miss Dyngus is scheduled to immediately precede the annual "march of the accordions," said to be the highlight of Cleveland Dyngus Day festivities.

Dyngus is an age-old Polish and Eastern European celebration held the Monday after Easter marking the end of Lent.

On Monday, April 1, the 2013 Miss Dyngus Pageant will be held at 4 p.m. at the Parkview Niteclub , 1261 W 58th Street, Cleveland, in Cleveland's near west side Detroit Shoreway neighborhood.

Pageant organizers told NewsChannel5 the winner will be selected at the time by the 2013 Cleveland Miss Dyngus committee with help from the attending audience.

After the crowning ceremonies, Miss Dyngus will lead the yearly march of the accordions parade up West 58th Street to Detroit Avenue, pushed by her admirers on a specially constructed rolling throne.

This year, inside a beer tent at that intersection, Miss Dyngus is expected to make her acceptance remarks while wearing her ceremonial sausage crown and sash.
