CLEVELAND, Ohio - It's not the warmest weather for a dip in Lake Erie, but that didn't stop many people from plunging into the cold waters on Saturday afternoon.
Many gathered at Edgewater Park in Cleveland to take part in the annual Polar Bear Plunge.
The event is organized to help raise money in the fight against Parkinson's and Juvenile Diabetes.
Many who participated only went up to their knees, but some 'plungers' said there's nothing like jumping into the freezing water.
"When you get in, it's so quick and numbing that you don't realize it. But when you get out, that's when it sets in!," said Parma resident Bryan Glendenning.
This is the 4th year for the Polar Bear Plunge event.
