Three people were killed when a speeding driver lost control of his car on Kirby Road in Cleveland early Saturday, ejecting four passengers onto the roadway, Cleveland Police said.

Police say 20-year-old Kareem Walton was driving well in excess of the 25 mph speed limit on Kirby Avenue around 12:13 a.m. when he lost control, went off the right side of the road and struck a large tree. The car then spun around and ejected four people.

Three of the ejected passengers—all of whom were between the ages of 16 and 20—were pronounced dead at the scene. They include 17-year-old Alexandria Winegarner and 17-year-old Deija Wynne. A third 14-year-old victim has not yet been identified by authorities.

Two passengers were transported to University Hospitals with severe head trauma.

Walton is facing three aggravated vehicular homicide charges and two charges of vehicular assault.

OVI test results are pending.
