CLEVELAND - About 20,000 food tasters are expected at the 2012 Taste of Tremont this Sunday on Cleveland's south side.
The 10th annual event, featuring food, drink and music, will take place from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Professor Avenue between Starkweather and Fairfield, in the heart of the trendy Tremont neighborhood.
Organizers said more than 50 vendors and area businesses are expected to participate in this year's food fest.
Admission is free. Food and drink offerings typically cost $2 to $5 -- payable to each vendor. Beer can be purchased in a beer garden at $5 each.
Free on-street parking is available throughout the district. Several area churches will offer parking in their lots.
In addition to the prepared foods from local restaurants and kitchens, this year's Taste of Tremont will also feature a dozen fresh food and vegetable vendors from the weekly Tremont Farmers' Market , which takes place every Tuesday afternoon through September in nearby Lincoln Park.
Taste of Tremont is not the only event in the neighborhood this weekend. The monthly Tremont Art Walk is being held Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Another popular Tremont event is scheduled for late July. The fourth annual Ale Fest will take place Saturday, July 28, in Lincoln Park. Ale Fest boasts more than 100 craft and premium beers for tasting. Tickets are $30.
