Cleveland police are reviewing surveillance video and are looking for leads in the murder of 44-year-old Melissa "Missy" Brinker, a popular west side bartender at the Cooley Lounge.

Witnesses told News 5 police are still looking for four suspects, who entered the W. 130 Street bar on Oct. 25, and shot killed Brinker during a late night robbery.

Mathew Soos, Brinker's boyfriend for more than 8 years, said the gunmen showed no emotion as they chased Brinker into a backroom, broke down a door and shot her at close range.

"I've loved her for 8 years,'" said Soos. "She was my heart, my soul, my everything."

"She was just stolen. For no other reason than somebody couldn't afford to go get a job, because they're lazy, nothing, worthless people in this world," he said.

Soos was upset as he explained that Cleveland police have yet to release the surveillance video to the public.

"As soon as that video is released, I almost can guarantee they're going to be captured," said Soos.

A benefit for Melissa Brinker will be held on Nov. 13, at the VFW Hall at 3580 W. 140 Street, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call first district Cleveland police at (216) 623-5100.
