Volunteers needed to clean up Cleveland

Volunteers to be led by Rebuilding Together

Cleveland residents will soon be visited by a group a volunteers who will work to improve their neighborhood.

Volunteers will help clean up the neighborhood near Lincoln West High School on West 30th Street between Meyer Avenue and Althen Avenue on Friday, October 19, 2012.

Dozens are expected to lend a hand removing high weeds, picking up trash, removing and installing landscaping and mulching.

The effort is part of NewsChannel 5's Building Better Neighborhoods Initiative.

The event is being coordinated by Rebuilding Together Director Paul Holm, t he City of Cleveland and Stockyard, Clark-Fulton & Brooklyn Center Community Development Office.

The volunteer team will be led by NewsChannel 5 Anchor Chris Flanagan and Troubleshooter Joe Pagonakis.

Volunteers can come and go between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
