CLEVELAND - Two families have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
They will move into newly renovated Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity homes on Colfax Road on Saturday, November 23.
NewsChannel5 was proud to be a partner with Habitat on this project as part of its Building Better Neighborhoods Initiative.
The remodeled houses are next door to each other and directly across the street from two houses Cleveland Habitat completed two months ago. Three more houses on Colfax are also being renovated and will have new families within the next few weeks.
The homes got new heating, plumbing and electrical systems, as well as new roofs. New kitchens were installed and the homes were also landscaped.
In a press release, John Habat, executive director of Cleveland Habitat said, "Colfax Road is enjoying a revival this year and we are glad to be a part of it. We had a very productive summer with several volunteer groups, churches and corporate sponsors that focused their efforts on Colfax, rehabbing seven houses and sprucing up an additional 16 homes for existing residents already living on the street."
