SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - Iraq veteran Demond Taylor got quite the surprise Thursday afternoon: his new home on Avondale Road was filled with brand new furniture from Kronheim's.
Taylor recently moved into his renovated home. The home was bought by Purple Heart Homes from the Cuyahoga County Land Bank for $1 and then, thanks to dozens of people, it was renovated for Taylor and his wife.
Kronheim's, a family-owned business, staged the home as a surprise for Taylor and even outfitted a "man cave" for him in the home's basement while he was at work.
According to a press release, the donation of new furniture was a way for Kronheim's to say thank you to Army Veteran Demond Taylor for his service and sacrifice to our country.
Taylor was 27 when he was deployed to Iraq. There, he was involved in several explosions that resulted in traumatic brain injury and post traumatic stress. He currently works for the VA and is studying for his master's degree.
