This week, Troubleshooter Joe Pagonakis and Anchor Leon Bibb received a special honor during a Cleveland City Council meeting for their efforts in cleaning up the area near East 116th Street and Ashbury Avenue on Cleveland's east side.

On August 17, 2012 Pagonakis and Bibb worked alongside Rebuilding Together Greater Cuyahoga Valley and Famicos Foundation . Together, they and more than 200 volunteers revitalized the neighborhood by painting homes, picking up trash, removing high weeds and landscaping.

"Not only did you guys keep the neighborhood clean, you became crime fighters, because when a neighborhood is clean, crime also decreases. On behalf of my 18 colleagues, we present you with this award of recognition," said Cleveland Councilman Kevin Conwell, of Ward 9.

NewsChannel 5 General Manager Sam Rosenwasser was also recognized during the ceremony.

"One year ago, we decided as an operation that NewsChannel 5 would try to find a way to help northeast Ohio. I'm delighted with where we are. We've only scratched the surface. We have a lot more to do. I'm here to pledge to you that we're going to do a lot more," said Rosenwasser.

NewsChannel 5 has participated in various rebuilding events in Cleveland, Painesville, Elyria and Akron.
