Update: Life after suffering traumatic brain injuries, in his own words

AKRON, Ohio -

It was a time in my life I will never forget. On Jan. 7, 2011, my son Joe was involved in a car accident that nearly took his life.

Traveling home to Akron with friends, their car slid on black ice and slammed into the back of a semi-truck in Boone County, Ky. He was rushed to the University Hospital of Cincinnati.

He suffered severe traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and multiple broken bones.

It was a long hard journey but today he is doing well. He still walks with a limp and has some short term memory loss, but to see him today, you would never know what he has been through.

He works as a cook at The Eye Opener in Akron.

Joe put together this video to help out a friend with a school project. With his permission, I thought I would share it. I know many people we know and didn't know followed my blog on the experience.
