AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron softball field is lined with hundreds of colorful bras to bring awareness about breast cancer.
The team will host its eighth annual “Strike Out Cancer Day” this Sunday when they take on Western Michigan University at 1 p.m.
The team joined forces this year with the Celtic Club to help fight breast cancer.
The 1,000-foot display of bras around the field represent those fighting, those who have fought and those who have lost their lives to breast cancer.
UA softball coach Julie Jones is a breast cancer survivor herself.
