AKRON - Akron fire officials are investigating the cause of a massive blaze in the area of Tri-County Pallet & Mulch.
The fire broke out around 4:30 am near West Wilbeth Road, just south of Kenmore Blvd.
At one point, flames were seen shooting high into the air and heavy smoke could be seen from I-76.
Officials said they have fought fires at the location before but that this time was much worst. Akron Fire Captain Michael Scott said, "In the past we were able to prevent it from extending into the building but it was just too far advanced this time to stop."
No one was injured.
