AKRON, Ohio - A sewage pipe leak closed the Akron Municipal Court's Probation Office on the second floor/mezzanine level of the Harold K. Stubbs Building.
Court officials reported Tuesday that the court's first concern was the health and safety of the public and its staff which use the office.
The leak was coming from a pipe inside the building and made its way through the ceiling into the probation office area directly below it.
The Probation Department has rescheduled all appointments originally set for the afternoon of April 9. The court will move probation staff to the 7th and 9th floors of the Harold K. Stubbs Building.
If you were scheduled to meet with the probation office on April 9 or April 10 should contact the probation office at (330) 375-2760.
Court officials said it's these types of recurring building conditions, plus lack of adequate space, which disrupts services to the public and bolsters the Akron Municipal Court's need for a new facility.
The Akron Municipal Court serves citizens in the cities of Akron and Fairlawn; the townships of Bath, Richfield and Springfield; the Villages of Lakemore and Richfield; and the part of Mogadore in Summit County.
