AKRON, Ohio - Akron police and fire were called to Bowery Street between South Main and South High Streets for a suspicious package just after 7 a.m. Thursday.
Officials said that a 911 call was made stating a bucket with wires hanging from it was sitting on the corner of an Alley along Bowery Street.
Once at the scene officers closed Bowery Street and called the Summit County Bomb Squad.
After about 10 minutes officers decided to approach the bucket and determined it posed no threat.
The bomb squad was canceled and road reopened just after 7:45 a.m.
No word on who placed the bucket there or why it was left.
