Summit County Crimestoppers: $2000 reward to catch Norton Radio Shack robbery suspect

NORTON, Ohio - Norton police have released a surveillance picture of a man who robbed a Radio Shack at gunpoint on September 11.

Summit County Crimestoppers is offering a reward up to $2,000 for information that leads to the suspect.

According to a police report, the man, wearing a black jacket and a red shirt, entered the store and browsed the cell phones while an employee attended to a customer.

After all of the customers left the store, the suspect told the assistant manager that he would like a phone.

The worker entered a back room and the suspect burst through the door, ordering the assistant manager into a cage where the phones are kept.

Police said the gunman ordered the employee to fill up a bag with phones.

The suspect then put the gun in his waist before getting away in a silver Ford or Chrysler vehicle.

The photograph provided by police was taken prior to the robbery as the the suspect was walking into a Dollar General store, a few doors down from Radio Shack.

A forensic lab at the University of Akron enhanced the photo.
