AKRON, Ohio - A short police chase in Akron ended with the driver crashing into a house at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Diagonal Road just before 1 a.m. Friday.
According to police, they pulled the driver over on Euclid Avenue. When they approached the car, he took off.
The driver lost control while trying to negotiate a curve near the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Diagonal Road and crashed into the side of the house.
The impact knocked a large hole into the basement wall and injured the driver. There was a passenger in the car, but police said she was not hurt.
Police said they only chased the car for about a minute before the crash.
The driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
People were inside the home at the time, but no one was hurt.
