The Akron mayor is warning drivers to avoid high waters after storms earlier in the day flooded roads and brought down trees.

Akron's Firestone neighborhood was hardest hit, with numerous streets closed to traffic due to downed trees and power lines.

Residents told newsnet5.com the storm in their neighborhood last less than 20 minutes, but included spinning winds, that caused trees to twist.

There were no injuries reported.

According to Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan's office, manhole covers were displaced during the storms. Limbs also fell from trees and debris was scattered across the roads.

City crews were dispatched and are working to replace the manhole covers and remove the debris.

Residents are asked to call 311 to report any traffic issues.
