Rewards are being offered for information leading to the identification or arrest of the female suspect responsible for assaulting a 65-year-old woman in December 2015.

Police said the victim, 65-year-old Karen Albright, had been hanging up Christmas decorations prior to being beaten with a hammer by another woman.

According to police, a woman knocked on the door of Albright's Dodge Avenue home around 1 p.m. on Dec. 2 and asked if she could come inside to use her phone.

When the senior said no, the stranger followed the victim into the home and started beating Albright with a hammer, striking her multiple times in her head and body.

The suspect stole Albright's purse and fled.

The suspect was described by police as a black woman, 40-50 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall to 5 feet 7 inches tall, between 250-300 lbs., and had black hair with purple highlights and small braids twisted on top of her head.

Summit County Crimestoppers Inc. and Ken Stewart's Grille are both offering $2,000 for the suspect's identification or arrest. Albright worked at Ken Stewart's Grille for more than 25 years.
