New Portable Training Facility helps with active shooter training

AKRON, Ohio - A new piece of equipment to assist in police training was unveiled at the University of Akron.

The Portable Training Facility has collapsible wall panels that can be assembled to different floor plans. The Ohio Attorney General's office said they purchased it with casino money, and the training is free to any police department in the state.

Officers from the University of Akron and Summa Health System took part in the training at the Quaker Square Ballroom.
