AKRON, Ohio - The Akron Zoo has enjoyed a 59 percent increase in visitors with the opening of the Grizzly Ridge exhibit.
The new exhibit featuring grizzly bears opened on July 20 and over 109,000 people have visited the zoo since.
The zoo also set a single day attendance record with 6,304 people stopping by on July 24.
The exhibit also features red wolves, bald eagle and a walk in aviary. One of the kids favorites is the river otter exhibit that includes a slide which passes through the exhibit.
