CANTON, Ohio - Rescue crews were called out to Nimishillen Creek early Friday morning after a passerby noticed a car flipped into the creek.
The Canton Fire Department along with police and the Stark County Coroner's office arrived on scene in the area of Marion Motley Avenue N.E. around 12:32 a.m. and pulled the vehicle from the water.
A man in his mid 40's was located inside the vehicle.
It's unknown if the male died from drowning or from the crash. Canton Fire Chief John Whitlatch tells NewsChannel5 that it's believed that the vehicle, a black Camaro, traveled through the intersection and over the edge of the road dropping about 15 to 20 feet before flipping into the creek.
The Stark County Coroner's Office is working to identify the victim and the cause of death Friday.
