Funeral arrangements have been set for the Canton firefighter hit by a truck and killed on State Route 8 in Akron earlier this week.
Tonya Johnson was arguing with her husband Monday when she got out of her car, crossed three southbound lanes of traffic, climbed over a cement barrier and was hit by a truck in the northbound lanes of the highway. She was dead before police arrived.
Police do not know what prompted her to walk into oncoming traffic but relatives told newsnet5.com they do not believe it was a suicide.
Services are scheduled for Feb. 29 at First Christian Church on Market Avenue in North Canton. Calling hours will be from 10 a.m to noon. The funeral service will follow.
