Free food for first diners as Denny's in Akron reopens

AKRON, Ohio - A Denny's in Akron is reopening its doors with a day of deals for customers.
The first 100 diners to come in when the restaurant, located at 2943 South Arlington Rd., opens its door at 9 a.m. will get a free Original Grand Slam, which consists of two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs cooked to order, two bacon strips and two sausage link.
Later in the day, the first 25 to enter for lunch beginning at noon will get a free Classic Burger & Fries, and then the first 25 dinner guests to dine starting at 6 p.m. will get a free entrée.
Diners will also have a chance to win hundreds of other prizes throughout the day, the restaurant said.
The deals and prizes mark the completion of renovations at the location.
"Today's grand re-opening is not only an exciting day for the residents of Akron, but for all of us at Denny's as well," said Denny's General Manager Rob Sagester In a news release.
