AKRON, Ohio - With the recent frigid temperatures, a warm coat can be a lifesaver. At a school assembly, Akron firefighters made sure the every students at Crouse Community Learning Center had a new warm coat.

It is part of the Coats for Kids program. The students were gathered in the school gym, and surprised with free coats.

Debbie Martinko, with Coats for Kids, said the need keeps growing. "It's been so cold and the need so great. It seems like we keep thinking every year, maybe the need will be less, and every year it just continues to be more."
