CANTON, Ohio - For the second time in less than a week a vacant home burns nearly to the ground on Hazlett Avenue NW in Canton.
Around 3:45 a.m. Canton firefighters got the call for a fully involved house fire in the 600 block of Hazlett Avenue NW. When firefighters arrived they found a boarded up home completely engulfed in fire with the fire spreading to two neighboring homes.
The people in the neighboring homes were able to get out with injury but their homes sustained significant damage to the walls facing the vacant home.
Tanya Ixos lives behind where the homes burned this morning and said she is concerned that someone is going to get hurt.
Another vacant house fire in the 200 block of Hazlett Avenue NW damaged a neighboring home last Friday morning, both fires are being called suspicious and are under investigation.
