Officials said intermittent disruptions of water services or low pressure should be expected for several hours during repairs. The Canton Water Department estimasted the repairs to be completed by 5 p.m. Friday.

A precautionary boil alert was put into effect for customers within the affected area. Residents are advised to boil tap water for one full minute, then remove from heat and cool before drinking or use for food prep. After the boil alert is lifted, flush all home plumbing with cold water.
