Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced on Thursday that Summit County Common Pleas Court sentenced David Quarterman, 19, to 14 years in prison for his role in two separate cases, including the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old.

On Feb. 19, Quarterman pled guilty to complicity to commit voluntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery.

In February of 2015, Quarterman was walking down an alley toward Colfax Place in Akron with two other teens, 19-year-old Marcus Price and a 17-year-old. Witnesses said they heard several gunshots and saw two men running from the scene. Police arrived and found Hill shot twice in the head.

A Summit County jury found Price guilty of tampering with evidence. Price was sentenced on May 18 to three years in prison.

In the other case, Quarterman admitted to robbing three men at an Akron home. Quarterman also admitted to shooting one of the three victims in the leg.

Quarterman's 18-year-old brother Davaughn is currently facing charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and felonious assault in the case.
