Akron Police clear suspect in March 12 hit-skip of any wrongdoing

Police in Akron are asking for help in identifying the suspect involved in a hit-skip case that left an 11-year-old with a broken leg.

The Akron boy was seriously injured after he was hit by a pickup truck March 12 and police now have a suspect in the case.

Police said the boy, Dawayne Grant, was trying to catch a bus to Hyre Middle School when he was struck on Arlington Road between Seventh Avenue and Baird Street.

Grant suffered a broken leg and several bruises and cuts to his legs, arms and hands from the incident.
 
Anyone with information about the photo above is asked to call Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-Cops. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $2,000.
