AKRON, Ohio - A 41-year-old Akron man has been convicted of DUI for the sixth time.
Samuel Hoffmeyer was found guilty Tuesday of one count of Operating Under the Influence, a fourth degree felony, and a specification for having at least five drunken driving convictions within the last 20 years, Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh said.
On Sept. 25, Hoffmeyer crashed his truck into a guardrail at the Sheetz gas station on West Waterloo Road, according to authorities.
They said officers happened to be there at the time and saw Hoffmeyer stagger from his truck and attempt to run from the crash. They then found him in nearby bushes and arrested him.
Hoffmeyer will be sentenced on July 11 at 1:30 p.m.
