Akron crime includes robbery, teacher's car stolen

AKRON, Ohio - Detectives in Akron said the incidents weren't related, but a McDonald's was robbed and two teens stole a teacher's car over the weekend.

Authorities said video caught two teens stealing a teacher's car on Friday. Akron police said Justin Meyers, 18, and Rashaun Payne, 18, stole car keys from an East High School teacher's coat and then took off in her vehicle. Meyers and Payne have been charged with auto theft.

In another unrelated incident, two armed, masked men robbed the McDonald's on Merriman Road in Akron Sunday night, according to police. Authorities said employees set off the restaurant's alarm and the duo took off.

The pair reportedly didn't get away with anything. Police are still searching for the suspects.
