911 outages being reported across the state of Ohio

CLEVELAND - 911 outages from calls coming from landlines are being experienced statewide right now.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office said the 911 resolution center is seeing problems throughout the entire state but that does not mean all parts are necessarily affected. They do not know the cause of the issue at this time.

Willoughby police said the problem appears to be affecting all of Lake County. Macedonia police also reported the issue. They said Boston Heights and Northfield Village are also affected.

If you are calling from a cellphone, 911 should still work.

Residents should call their departments' non-emergency numbers instead of 911 at this time if they do not have a cellphone.

This issue appears to be connected with an apparent fiber line cut. Follow updates here: http://on.wews.com/XFC1C3
