MARENGO, Ohio - A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the theft of firearms from a Marengo gun shop.
Between Sept. 8-9, firearms were stolen from S & S Guns located at 1908 County Rd. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Morrow County Sheriff's Office are offering up to $5,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the burglary.
ATF and the Morrow County Sheriff's Office are currently investigating the situation.
"The burglary and theft of firearms from a gun dealer is a very serious crime and a top priority for ATF," Columbus Field Division ATF acting special agent in charge Christopher "CJ" Hyman said in a news release. "Having investigated similar cases in the past, we know stolen firearms are often used in furtherance of drug and gang-related activities and are utilized by violent criminals to perpetrate additional crimes."
