MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio - Andre, Jasmine, Jaison and Jahzion Anderson have been living the dream the past two months thanks to ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Their new home in Maple Heights helps make their disabilities manageable.
The Andersons never imagined they'd be picked, or even thought of, for a new home. It was early October when the ABC Extreme Makeover crew and celebrity designers surprised the family, and it's been a wild ride ever since!
The family told NewsChannel5 this home is a blessing and something that has made their lives easier and their disabilities more manageable. The wide-open spaces and high-tech equipment has made all the difference to this well-deserving family.
They now have everything from a scanner that reads food labels and talks out loud, so Jasmine can find food and cook easier in the kitchen, to a reading machine that spells out and also talks out loud to help the family read books.
All four of these family members have found comfort in their new home.
Designers also picked out a newly made product that helps Jasmine put on her makeup and jewelry. The security system in the home is top notch. Builders made sure there are cameras with voice activation so the family knows who's knocking at the door.
This high-tech home is exactly what The Andersons need to move forward with a safe future ahead.
