Fall foliage will last longer after wet summer

Thanks to just over 10 inches of rain over three months, trees will be radiant as we step into fall.

From May to July, Cleveland received 10.77 inches of rain, peaking over our normal of 7.09 inches. The three extra inches will help with healthy trees.

When we lack rain throughout the summer trees are deficit, becoming crinkly, turning brown or even falling from the tree.

This inevitably is bound to happen as temperatures get colder and due to lack of moisture. However, this fall we should receive a prolonged sight of fall foliage. We may have been complaining about all the water throughout the summer, but as we step into fall next Wednesday, it will be to our benefit.

Look for the best fall foliage in mid-October in Northeast Ohio.
