NAPLES,FLA - The father of the Seville, Ohio, family that was lost on an airboat in the Florida Everglades for more then 24-hours spoke for the first time exclusively with NewsChannel 5 Sports Anchor Mike Cairns about their experience.
Scott Schreck, the Medina County golf pro, told NewsChannel5 that his family is resting comfortably after their 24-hour ordeal which ended with a rescue. Schreck said other then, "a few mosquito bites," the family got a good night sleep and is ready to enjoy the final hours of their vacation before beginning the 15-hour drive home on Sunday.
Schreck said his boys Drew, Luke and Zane showed remarkable bravery throughout the entire ordeal and were never phased by anything that happened while the family was stranded in the Florida swamps for 24-hours.
Schreck and his wife Carrie, who works for the Medina County Schools, said the boys treated the whole ordeal like, "a camping trip".
The family is expected to return to a huge welcome home from friends and family on Monday night and wanted to thank all of their well-wishers for the tons of phone calls and texts they received since the news of their ordeal went national.
