The 25-year-old Wolstein Center on Cleveland State University's campus may soon live out its last days.

On Monday, the university released a proposal on its website for plans that call for the demolition of the arena to make way for additional student housing.

The project calls for a smaller arena, seating up to 8,000 people, beds for up to 1,000 students, parking and a green space, according to the request for qualifications

The documents say the new rooms would be a mix of units targeted for first year students.

Right now there is no definite timeline for the project, however the proposal calls for immediate construction of 500 beds, also known as Phase One.

Two other locations on CSU's campus are also being considered for the project: Krenzler field along with the softball field and an area south of the Music and Communications building on Euclid Ave.
