Cafes in Japan give customers a hopping chance to eat and drink next to rabbits

TOKYO - Trix are for kids, and coffee's for rabbits.

Nearly a dozen cafes have sprung up in Japan over the past year featuring furry hares munching side by side with the customers.

Business has been hopping. The cafes have been so packed that many customers are being shooed away by managers.

The rabbit restaurants got really popular after last year's earthquake, tsunamis and near-nuclear disaster. People in Japan were looking for something to distract them from hard times, and some of them think they've found it in the bunny coffee shops.

Many satisfied customers say the rabbits have a special healing power that they can't get from their human friends. They also say the rabbits help relieve stress and make them happy.
