Three guests were robbed early Saturday morning at a downtown Cleveland hotel, the manager said.

The robberies took place at the Hampton Inn on East Ninth Street at about 7:22 a.m.

The guests from Columbus and West Virginia were robbed inside their hotel room by a male with a shotgun, police said.

Officers said it appeared that the men were set up by male and female teams. Police said a woman who had befriended the men earlier lead the robber to them.

Money, jewelry, cell phones and credit cards were stolen.

Police said the suspects were not guests at the hotel.
