EASTLAKE, Ohio -- The city of Eastlake has laid off five police officers to help reduce city debt. The $1 million in debt is owed for Classic Park. Also, officers will no longer respond to locked-car complaints unless a child or pet is trapped. They will stop responding to minor crime complaints like harassing phone calls or thefts.
