Coach Charged With Killing Man Over $5 Parking Fee Takes Stand

AKRON, Ohio -- A youth coach charged with beating another man to death over a $5 parking fee took the stand Thursday afternoon in his own defense. NewsChannel5 reported Haught, a baseball coach, is charged with involuntary manslaughter. Haught allegedly killed Robert Abrams, the parking attendant, when a fight broke out. Earlier in the trial, a Lakemore police officer testified about how he tried to restore order at the scene. If convicted, Haught could get up to 5½ years in prison.
