Police Say Woman Interfered With Another Arrest

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland police arrested the 18-year-old granddaughter of Mayor Frank Jackson early Monday morning in the city's 3rd District, NewsChannel5's Joe Pagonakis reported.Sources say that Janesha Jackson was arrested for allegedly interfering with another arrest and interfering with official police business.Pagonakis reported that the woman, who lives in the same home as her grandfather, has been released from jail and is not being charged at this time. Prosecutors are waiting for the results of the investigation before deciding whether to charge her.Police were called to the scene at an East 55th and Woodland gas station around 3:45 a.m. after receiving reports of shots being fired. When police arrived, officers pulled over a suspicious looking vehicle.Police found three loaded handguns and suspected crack cocaine in the vehicle. According to a police report, Janesha Jackson walked up to the scene and refused to leave. She was not a passenger in the car.Three others were arrested, including car occupant 19-year-old Steven Perkins, who is reportedly Janesha Jackson's boyfriend. Also arrested were 24-year-old Donald Davis and 21-year-old Kenneth Vaughn Jr.Perkins, who allegedly lied to police and told them he was the mayor's relative, faces drug and gun charges.
