Man Pleads Not Guilty

POSTED: 10:48 am EST March 21, 2006

James Cline pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday in a Geauga County Common Pleas Court after allegedly driving drunk and causing a crash that claimed the lives of two Hiram College students.

NewsChannel5 reported Cline faces 13 counts, including aggravated vehicular homicide, involuntary manslaughter and drunken driving in connection with the March 2 accident.

During his court hearing, he waived his rights to a second arraignment.

Cline has 11 drunken driving convictions.

Karen Hensley, 50, was charged with involuntary manslaughter for lending Cline her car.

One student remains hospitalized.

Cline is being held on a bond unrelated to the new charges.
