Bush Recognizes Local Woman's Volunteer Service

Tutor Presented With President's Volunteer Service Award

As President George W. Bush arrived at Cleveland Hopkins Airport Monday for his speech at the City Club, he also presented an award to a Garfield Heights woman.

Lois Hagood received the President's Volunteer Service Award. She has been a volunteer with Experience Corps Cleveland for six years.

Experience Corps gives volunteers over age 55 to opportunity to serve as tutors and mentors to children in urban public schools and after-school programs.

Hagood tutors first-graders in reading at the Robert H. Jamison Computech Center in Cleveland.
