AKRON, Ohio -- A 20-year-old man was indicted Thursday on charges stemming from the rape a 12-year-old girl, according to a news release.

Nathaniel Portman, 20, will be in court on Monday.

According to a news release, Portman and the girl had a sexual relationship from February through December of 2005.

Officials said the girl's mother, who is 39, knew about the sexual relationship, but did not try to stop the inappropriate behavior.

According to a news release, the mother allowed her daughter to spend the night with Portman.

Other places alleged sex incidents took place include a rooftop of a building, in outdoor bathroom at public parks, and at a drive-in theater in Portage County.

Officials said the sex at the theater allegedly took place in the back seat while the girl's mother sat in the front seat.

Portman also allegedly had sex at a home where he lived with another man who is dating the girl’s mother.
