AKRON, Ohio -- Police in several cities believe that the same two robbers committed a rash of armed robberies stretching across three counties.Authorities are hoping somebody has information that can help them catch the two men who robbed five video game stores in the past two weeks, NewsChannel5 reported. The Game-Stop store in Jackson Township was the latest to be hit by the armed gunmen. Police say that minutes after the store opened Tuesday, a man walked inside and placed a gun on the counter.Police say the clerk was tied up with duct tape and put in a stockroom. Then, another person entered the store, and the two got away with cash and video games.Police said that the two robbers then went to Akron, but first stopped at a payphone to call 911, and reported the robbery they just committed.Akron police believe they are dealing with serial robbers who have hit several locations in the past two weeks."The suspects hit five different locations from Akron to Stow, to University Heights, Bath, Jackson Township," said Lt. Richard Edwards.Edwards says the robbers' mode of operation is the same."Go in with gun, hold employees at gunpoint, get money, sometimes pistol whipped in the head," said Edwards.Police departments in several counties are working to stop the duo before they hit any more game stores.Police said the description of the robbers was the same in each robbery. Both suspects are described as black men, each of them over 6 feet tall. Both were wearing dark clothing at the times of the robberies.Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
