Officials: Man Fleeing Police Hits Car, Killing Hiram Student

Driver Crossed Centerline

A Hiram College student has died from injuries suffered in a high-speed chase Thursday night, NewsChannel5 reported.

Burton police said they were trying to stop James Cline, 47, who was driving erratically on state Route 168.

Police said Cline's car crossed the centerline, striking another car.

Grace Chamberlain, 18, of Kirtland, was a front-seat passenger in the car that Cline hit. She died at Geauga Regional Hospital.

Cline and two other teens are hospitalized.

Andrew Hopkins, 18, of Warren, was the driver and Evan Dasilva, 19, of Rhode Island, was a passenger. They both attend Hiram College.

The accident is under investigation.
