CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland Heights woman accused of attacking police during her arrest last month appeared in court Thursday.Police say Carolyn Fisher fought back when officers arrested her for hanging anti-George Bush posters on a telephone pole.Fisher denies attacking officers, but police said she fought and bit arresting officers, who charged her with two counts of felony assault.Fisher and her attorney claimed that this is a case of overreaction by police."I took a firm stand that he should not be arresting me. I told him I would take down the poster. And I responded to the pain he was inflicting on me," said Fisher.Defense attorney Terry Gilbert said, "I have been a lawyer for a long time, and I've never seen anybody arrested for putting up a poster on a telephone pole and then physically abused in the process."Gilbert said he's looking for witnesses to help verify Fisher's version of what happened.Fisher's bond was set at $2,500.
